Rumpt – On a beautiful Saturday afternoon students from Leerdam gave their end of the year concert. The afternoon began with a rehearsal of the Waltz of Johannes Brahms. Actually, this Waltz is written for piano, but for the occasion, teacher Annemarie arranged the piece for 6 voiced violin orchestra. Everybody had practiced their parts very well, and yet the first playthrough was such a chaos that you wondered if it would end up okay. But after 45 minutes (and a lot of patience) it was already togehter and we had time for a break, before we would practice one last time. The general rehearsal, you could say.

After the rehearsal it was time to eat all together. Everyone had brought something tasty, there were pancakes, there was soup, quiche, salad, boboti and more. All parents and brothers / sisters were allowed to come, and so it was a really great atmosphere in the historic Reformed church in Rumpt.

After dinner, other relatives and friends came in order to enjoy the concert. There was quite a crowd. Everyone took turns playing the song he / she had prepared, and everyone played very nice! Last placed, the teacher played a Paganini caprice of, and then it was time to perform the Waltz.

We can look back on a very successful afternoon and evening! Thank you.
